The WMI radar recording system is a computer-based data recording system which interfaces to the radar system to process the radar echo information in the PPI and RHI modes, colorize it and display it on a color monitor. It also has the capability of color printing the same information displayed on the color monitor. The system can record data, if desired, onto a computer hard-drive which can be archived later for future analysis. The display has the capability of showing cloud intensities in up to 8 separate levels and is an important feature in conducting weather modification operations and research.

The elevation angle is the tilt of the antenna from horizontal; ranges are in nautical miles and cloud heights are in 1000's of feet (KFt).
