Background In 2001 the West Central Texas Weather Modification Association was established to manage and conserve the water resources of a 9 county area. In the summer of 2001, WMI was awarded the contract to conduct the first season of the West Central Texas Rainfall Enhancement Program. The contract was for personnel, aircraft, a weather radar, and services for a program of applied cloud modification for the purpose of enhancing precipitation over west-central Texas. Project Area The target area covers a 9 county region of west-central Texas. The counties, or portions of counties, that are included in the target area include Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Nolan, Runnels, and Taylor Counties in west central Texas.
